The master's degree in Cinema and Photography at the University School of Media Arts and Design (ESMAD) at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (IPP) promotes the development of skills in research, theoretical conceptualization, artistic creation and project practice, with the aim to form professionals with higher qualifications in the fields of cinema (documentary, experimental and fiction genres) and photography.

- The graduate will have professional skills across the many areas of cinema and photography: directors, producers, cinematographers, sound directors, editors, technicians from the various audiovisual departments in cinema, television and advertising
- photographers, image consultants and editors, image office professionals
- researchers and teachers in the areas of audiovisual communication, cinema, photography and aesthetics.
Holders of a higher degree organized in 180 credits or legal equivalent; holders of a foreign higher academic degree in a course in compliance with the principles of Bologna; holders of a foreign higher academic degree which is recognized by the ESMAD Technical-Scientific Council; holders of an outstanding professional curriculum that is recognized as attesting the capacity to carry out this course; holders of a Bietapic Degree or a Degree organized in 300 ECTS or legal equivalent.
