"Inner Landscapes" de Hanna Chornodid

A exposição da estudante do Mestrado em Cinema e Fotografia inaugura no dia 19, no Porto.

A exposição Inner Landscapes, de Hanna Chornodid, estudante do Mestrado em Cinema e Fotografia — Especialização em Fotografia, inaugura no dia 19 de setembro, pelas 18h00, na Delegação Inatel Porto (Rua do Bonjardim, 501).

Inner Landscapes grew out of the experience of disorientation between countries, cities, and temporary lives, when the familiar dissolved and the sense of home vanished like a dream at sunrise. Home revealed itself not as a place but as a fragile inner state - lost, elusive, suspended between past and present, between reality and its reflection. A chance discovery of an old Polaroid camera turned into a window through which the world regained color and form - uneven, distorted, yet genuine. Chemical stains, blurred focus, and shifts of light became reflections of an inner state: of loss, fragile memory, and sudden recognition. Inner Landscapes is both a meditation and a visual diary, an attempt to capture what cannot be contained in words: the inner traces of lived experience, moments arising between past and present, between reality and its reflection.

Hanna Chornodid is a Ukrainian-born photographer whose background includes a law degree and more than a decade of experience as a university lecturer. In 2021 she relocated to Portugal, where she chose to pursue her long-standing passion for photography. She is currently completing a Master’s degree in Photography at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (ESMAD), while developing her artistic practice. Her work focuses on themes of memory, loss, displacement, and the search for identity. Through photography, she reflects on how personal experiences and inner states can be transformed into visual form, creating images that preserve the fleeting, the fragile, and the intangible.
