No dia 16 de maio, pelas 18h00, inaugura a exposição The Idea of Álvaro Siza - Ocean Swimming Pool, de Mark Durden e João Leal, na Borough Road Gallery, na London South Bank University.
Mark Durden (University of South Wales) e João Leal (ESMAD), professores e artistas, têm desenvolvido trabalho em resposta à arquitetura de Siza desde 2017. Esta exposição acompanha o lançamento, no Reino Unido, da terceira publicação sobre a arquitetura de Álvaro Siza.
A acompanhar a exposição haverá uma mesa redonda que contará com os autores, Mark Durden e João Leal, e com os convidados Hugh Campbell (Artista e Professor, University College Dublin), Giulia Parlato (Artista, Roma/Londres), Simon Terrill (Artista, University of South Bank University) e Adam Brown (Artista, London South Bank University), moderada por Igea Troiani (Arquiteta, London South Bank University).
Time is central to photography. Photography is of the moment and instant, and in our pictures we are very much aware of this through the shadows that play over the structures and our sense of how the architecture’s appearance is always changing during different light and different seasons. The pictures for this exhibition accent both the dramatic shifts in effect between overcast and bright sunlit days on Siza’s architecture and the constant tidal movement of the waters.
