The School of Media Arts and Design (ESMAD) is an organic teaching and research unit, which enjoys academic autonomy and intends to continue as a national and international reference school. In the exercise of its autonomy, its mission is the intervention and development of graduate and postgraduate training, research and cooperation with society.
Seeking to stand out as a public institution of higher education, the School of Media Arts and Design develops a paradigm of quality training, focused on the adaptation and adequacy of the infrastructures it offers, promoting its research and the merit of its faculty.
ESMAD faces major challenges today. The change to Vila do Conde/Póvoa de Varzim constitutes an opportunity to modernize and consolidate our identity, through the commitment and participation of all, in the continuous search for excellence and through creative solutions, that transform this school into a winning project. With the change, we also made a commitment to contribute to national and regional development, cooperation in various projects and the provision of services to the community.
This is how teachers and students make efforts, set goals and materialize strategies in a continuous valuation of knowledge in the field of Arts, Design and Media.
