GRI Talks | Cape | Conde // Co-Op

As GRI Talks recebem os professores Eran Tahor e Waldemar Bussiahn, da Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT).

A próxima GRI Talks, que terá lugar no dia 14 de maio de 2025, pelas 10h00, terá como convidados Eran Tahor e Waldemar Bussiahn, Professores na Cape Peninsula University of Technology, na Cidade do Cabo, na África do Sul.

Decorrendo da cooperação entre a ESMAD e a Cape Peninsula University of Technology, e como complemento à exposição Cape | Conde, que inaugurará no dia 16 de maio, na galeria G2, esta palestra é promovida pelo Gabinete de Relações Internacionais (GRI) e conta com o apoio do programa Erasmus+.

O evento consistirá na apresentação de duas palestras ministradas pelos professores Eran Tahor e Waldemar Bussiahn da Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT). Waldemar Bussiahn apresenta a palestra Designing work lived environments for a demanding and distressing work environment: a case study in a psychiatric institution, e Eran Tahor Journey of the Deep-Sea Dweller multi-channel video installation: shaping viewers experience, and designing narrative structures in multi-screen video art installations.

As GRI Talks são uma iniciativa do gabinete de Relações Internacionais da ESMAD e consiste num conjunto de palestras de interesse académico, artístico e científico, proferidas por convidados estrangeiros, para a comunidade académica.

A iniciativa terá lugar no anfiteatro B201.

Waldemar Bussiahn is a Senior Lecturer in Photography at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in Cape Town, South Africa. He has dedicated the majority of his professional life to lecturing at various universities and currently teaches third- and fourth-year students, while also supervising Master's candidates. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Dr Bussiahn is involved in ongoing projects that draw on the findings of his doctoral research, focusing on the creation of work environments that promote enhanced wellbeing. He also continues to explore the relationship between Pictorialism and contemporary photography. A deep fascination with the natural environment informs his work, as he reflects on the enduring impact of human interference on nature.

Eran Tahor is a lecturer in Postproduction at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in Cape Town, South Africa. With a background as a professional cinematographer, he has worked extensively across feature films, documentaries, television, and commercial productions. His academic practice is grounded in combining hands-on industry experience with critical and theoretical approaches to visual storytelling. His recent creative collaboration with US artist Ayana V. Jackson, Journey of the Deep-Sea Dweller, is a multi-channel video art installation that premiered at the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art and was exhibited at the African Art Biennale in Dakar, Senegal.
